WHO MAY JOIN THE CLUB?
Our Monday junior sessions are for players aged 9 to 17, of all abilities. School aged junior players might also be interested in our Saturday sessions and junior badminton players below the age of 13 might be interested in Perth Junior Badminton Club - visit http://perthbadminton.org.uk/development/
Players aged 18 or older might like to join our adult club.
To ensure proper supervision, appropriate adult to children ratios, and compliance with appropriate child protection arrangements, you must apply to join the club and receive a confirmation of membership. Please do not turn up and expect to play at one of our sessions if you have not received a confirmation of membership.
WHEN DO YOU MEET?
Glenearn Junior Badminton Club meets on Mondays, excluding school holidays, from 6:45pm to 7:45pm at the Academy of Sport and Wellbeing at UHI Perth.
For further details, see our junior club nights page.
WHERE DO YOU MEET?
For more information on how to find us at UHI Perth, see our club nights page.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
The fees are £2.50 per session . The cost of hiring the courts and the cost of the shuttles we play with are included in the fee.
If you have difficulty affording the fees, please confidentially discuss your situation with our Treasurer, Ross Paterson, or e-mail him at info@glenearnbadminton.co.uk. The Club is inclusive and "open to all" and we will seek to ease the cost of participating for those that have difficulty affording our fees. We will ensure such matters are confidential between you and the Club.
WHO WILL SUPERVISE THE CLUB SESSIONS?
Glenearn Junior Badminton Club is run by a number of volunteers under the auspices of Glenearn Badminton Club. We can provide details of all of our volunteers, all of who are experienced badminton players.
We comply with appropriate child protection arrangements, under guidance from Badminton Scotland. Our Child Protection Officer is Sandi MacDougall.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING?
Players should bring suitable attire to play badminton in, including shoes with non-marking soles.
Most of our members bring their own badminton racket. We can normally lend you a racket to use on the night if you do not have one.
We recommend you bring a drink. You do not need to bring shuttlecocks. The Club provides shuttles and the cost is included in the nightly fee.
CAN I JUST TURN UP?
Places at the junior club are limited to ensure we have an appropriate ratio of adults to children. You must apply to join the club and receive a confirmation of membership. Please do not turn up and expect to play at one of our sessions if you have not received a confirmation of membership.
WHAT ARE CLUB NIGHTS LIKE?
We aim for our weekly club nights to be friendly and relatively informal. And most of all, fun for everyone involved!
