Well done to all of the players in today’s Women’s Badminton Doubles Ladder. What a great afternoon of badminton!
We had three rounds of games, with two groups in the first round then splitting into three groups for rounds two and three. The group winners in each round were as follows:
Round 1
Group 1 winners – Joan Columbine & Susan Hunter (Fortrose)
Group 2 winners – Laura Doig & Gabrielle Plasman (Glenearn)
Round 2
Group 1 winners – Stella McClure & Aleks Paszkiewicz (Glenearn)
Group 2 winners – Gosia Kujawska & Alison Karley (Glenearn)
Group 1 winners – Joan Columbine & Susan Hunter (Fortrose)
Group 2 winners – Victoria Salisbury & Janice Scougall (Crieff)
Group 3 winners – Laura Doig & Gabrielle Plasman (Glenearn)
It came down to the last Group 1 game of the day to decide the overall winners when Joan Columbine & Susan Hunter took on Stella McClure & Aleks Paszkiewicz. Joan and Susan played well to clinch the medals with Stella and Aleks having to settle for runners up.
